Alfa Laval Aalborg Oy supplies waste heat recovery boilers and fired boilers for ships and waste heat recovery systems for power plant and process industry applications worldwide. The company is a part of Alfa Laval group, which has totally 17 000 employees.
The history of Alfa Laval Aalborg Oy dates back to 1964, when Uusikaupunki Shipyard Ltd started manufacturing marine boilers in Uusikaupunki. After the Finnish shipyard Finnyards bought the company, it became a part of Pipemasters Ltd. In 1994 Industrial boiler solutions was started as new business area of the company. The boiler desings of Alfa Laval Aalborg Oy are marketed under trademark Aalborg™.
In 1997 Pipemasters Ltd was acquired by Danish Aalborg Industries A/S becoming then part of the major marine boiler manufacturer in the world. At this point Aalborg Industries Oy was established.
Some years later in 2011, world leader in heat exchangers and separators, Alfa Laval, acquired the whole Aalborg Industries group and the present Alfa Laval Aalborg Oy was formed.
